Sapphire City Mountain Bike Challenge (02 Aug 2009)
Inverell is to host its first mountain bike teams challenge on the 2nd August 2009. Starting and finishing at the Inverell Showground, the Sapphire City Mountain Bike Teams Challenge is a loop relay over an approximate 25km course.
Starting at the showground riders will follow a course out of the showground, onto tar, through paddocks, on dirt roads and onto some single track around the National Park. Check the course map for more details.
Each team will be given a card which will be required to be clipped at the start - finish line and also at a checkpoint within the course. The course is, in places, hard to very hard and is challenging. We recommend novice riders ensure they have done training on this type of terrain previously. We can guarantee you will have a good ride, so don't forget to get your entries in for the "earlybird" price as the fees go up after the 14th July.

Camping is available at the showground for $12.50 per person, with showers and toilets available. Breakfast and lunch will also be available for a nominal fee.
