The Westpac Rescue Helicopter is thrilled to announce that they will be hosting a very special Community Open Day on Sunday 3 March at the The Entertainment Grounds, West Gosford.

The Service is inviting nominations from experienced business and community leaders to chair its Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) which represents the New England and North West region of New South Wales.

After 38 years as an Aircrew Officer on our region’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Graham Nickisson will fly his last mission this week. Nickisson joined the Service as a 17 year old in 1981 and has been flying emergency response missions ever since.

Today the Westpac Rescue Helicopter said farewell to long serving Pilot Kevin Ratcliffe after more than 15 years of service.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service would like to welcome media and the community to support the 85 Alive and Well on farms Ride for the Chopper participants, as they pedal 450 km’s over 7 days from Tamworth to Kurri Kurri.

Marking twelve months since the official opening of its new base at Lake Macquarie Airport, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service has today publicly thanked local construction company Core Project Group for the contribution it has made to the Service.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service has today recognised the achievements of Aircrew Officer Trent Owen, after he was awarded the prestigious honour of ‘Australian Helicopter Aircrew Member of the Year’ by the Australian Helicopter Industry Association.

This week is National Volunteers Week and we will be highlighting our unbelievably generous volunteers. Since our early beginnings, volunteers have been integral to our operations and in 2018, they remain an important part of who we are and what we do.

Chief Executive Officer of Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, Richard Jones OAM, has today welcomed the announcement by Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson MP that winching operations have resumed on the Service’s Tamworth based helicopter.
