The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter delivers emergency aeromedical, search and rescue services, free of charge to those in need throughout Northern NSW. The Service has a proud history and now operates 24-7 from three bases in Lismore, Tamworth and Belmont.

As not-for-profit Service, the Outdoor Leisure Show is a major annual event vital to our fundraising platform. The Show attracts over 180 exhibitors from across Australia and over 8,000 patrons over 3 days in July each year. Funds raised help to ensure we can continue to operate 24-7 from our Lismore Base as a free of charge service.

The role

The Service is seeking to recruit a part-time Lismore based Show Coordinator to lead the development of the Show and manage the delivery of the event. The role is integral within the existing Fundraising and Marketing team.  Your focus will include:

  • Business development in attracting new exhibitors and retaining existing exhibitors;
  •    
  • Coordinating the site plan and negotiating price points;
  •    
  • Sourcing and scheduling entertainment;
  •    
  • Ensuring the right practices are in place to deliver a safe and healthy environment for exhibitors and patrons;
  •    
  • Providing input into the marketing plan for the event;
  •    
  • Assisting in the coordination of Volunteers and rostering
  •    
  • Being on site for the duration of bump in, the event and bump out
  •    
  • Managing the administration of bookings, invoicing and payments
  •    
  • Providing assistance to the Events Coordinator and Marketing Team throughout the year on other event activities and appeals

You will be responsible to ensure finances are administered appropriately. This includes setting, monitoring and reporting on event budgets.

 

This is a part-time permanent position based in Lismore requiring travel at times to attend other similar events to recruit new and existing exhibitors. The role involves weekend and after hours work within a flexible arrangement that encourages you to balance your days of work as required.

 

You will be a strong communicator, and must be comfortable giving direction, while being consultative and understanding.

It will be well regarded that you have the following experience:

  • Managing and coordinating large scale events
  •  
  • Coordinating Volunteers or volunteering yourself;
  •     
  • Fundraising or working in a Not-for-profit discipline such as event management;
  •    
  • Planning budgets and prioritising activities;
  •    
  • Leading or developing teams of people;
  •    
  • Knowledge of the Leisure Industry
  • Knowledge of Communities in the Northern Region.
